# Brisket And Flank Pho ## Ingredients * 3 pounds beef brisket * 1 pound thinly sliced flank steak * 1 onion, quartered * 2 cloves garlic, peeled * 2 tablespoons fish sauce * 1 tablespoon sugar * 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper * 8 cups beef or chicken broth * 1 teaspoon ground coriander * 2 star anise * 2 cinnamon sticks * 2 tablespoons vegetable oil * 1/2 pound dried rice noodles * 1/2 cup thinly sliced scallions * 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro * 2 limes, quartered ## Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 300°F. 2. Place the brisket and flank steak in a large baking dish. Sprinkle with the onion, garlic, fish sauce, sugar, and pepper. Add the broth and coriander, star anise, and cinnamon sticks. Cover with foil and bake for 3 hours. 3. Remove the brisket and flank steak from the baking dish and shred with two forks. 4. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the shredded meat and sauté for 5 minutes. 5. Add the broth from the baking dish and bring to a boil.
